Rest Haven is a town of about forty-five people covering roughly a sixth of a square mile on GA-13, just west of I-985. It is the smallest place we build, and our Shadburn Ferry house is about two miles down the road.
Rest Haven straddles the Gwinnett–Hall county line, which for a town this size has a genuinely odd consequence: the two halves sit in two different metropolitan statistical areas. Which county a parcel falls in decides the permitting authority, so that is established first — in a town 0.15 square miles across, the line is never far away.
There is very little of it, and that is the point. Rest Haven is small, quiet and hemmed in by Buford and the interstate, so lots come up rarely. When one does, you are buying a genuinely unusual address a couple of minutes from everything in Buford, and it is worth building on properly.
We build and renovate throughout Gwinnett and Hall Counties. These are the parts of Rest Haven we work in most often — if your street is not on the list, it does not mean we cannot get to it.
The county line decides it — Gwinnett County Public Schools on the Gwinnett side, Hall County Schools on the Hall side. For a town of this size that is a real question rather than a technicality, and it is settled by the parcel.
